Students

All Advanced Teaching students in the Master of Science in Education program share two traits. They are certified, experienced educators, and they have achieved the academic excellence required for admittance into Northwestern University.

Beyond those similarities, however, the program's students are best described by their differences. With its flexible schedule and emphasis on integrating inquiry, theory and practice, the Advanced Teaching program attracts students with diverse backgrounds and interests.

Within the Advanced Teaching program, students explore an area of interest — mathematics, science, literacy or gifted education. Through shared reflection and inquiry using innovative technologies, students develop their professional strengths and resources in a chosen area.
