School of Education & Social Policy
Your SESP Web Page

The School of Education and Social Policy now lets you build and edit your own comprehensive web page. Click here to see an example. It can include everything from a personal biography and awards to publications, presentations and community service.

You have full control over your profile in several distinct ways:
  1. Add as much or as little content as you want.
  2. Decide if it is seen only by others in the SESP community—or by everyone on the planet!
  3. Decide whether to conceal or reveal your contact information.

How Do I Work on My Web Page?

To work on your web page, please visit the My Profile page. Here's how to log in:
  • If you do currently have an active Northwestern NetID, you can use it.
  • If you don't have a NetID but we do have your e-mail address on record, use it (and the password that goes with it).
  • Forgotten your password or want to reset it? Click here!
  • If we don't have your e-mail address on record, please contact us! We'll quickly get you up and running!

Where Can I Find My Web Page?

At first, your web page is hidden from the public—which means only you (and other members of the SESP community) can see it after logging into My SESP, our community space. After logging in you can see all alumni web pages by visiting our Alumni Listing by Degree pages.

If and when you decide to make your web page public, it can be seen on the People pages on the various SESP web sites. A guide to these pages can be found here.

Does Information from My Web Page Get Passed on to the Northwestern Alumni Association?

Twice each year we pass contact information updates from our system over to the Alumni Association—and vice versa. Until we can create faster updates between our two systems, please be sure to do updates on both the SESP system and the Alumni Association's system.

On the other hand, all "specialized" information you provide—such as publications, presentations, awards, biography, community service—stays in our system. It's this specialized information that makes your SESP web page so useful. We hope to complete arrangements soon for sharing this information, too, with NAA.

What Are the Benefits of Social Networking?

While most alumni-specific networking is handled by the Northwestern Alumni Association, SESP is providing additional networking opportunities within the SESP community. Alumni will be able to view each other's web pages, and to "publish" these so others outside of SESP can view them. We hope these features will enhance networking, mentoring, internships, and employment opportunities between you and your fellow graduates, as well as all others in the SESP Community.
