Sources of Support

SESP partners The School of Education and Social Policy receives support from funding agencies to achieve common goals and reach broad audiences and communities.

Local and national sources of funding support our research in many areas, including learning and development, mathematics and science software, teacher professional development, school leadership, minority achievement and literacy.



Educational Collaborators

SESP partners Tangible results of such partnerships include:
  • developing and implementing innovative mathematics and science curricula for urban schools
  • designing programs to recruit and train new teachers and principals
  • studying effects of policies, such as welfare reform, on families
  • assessing school reform efforts


Urban/Suburban Northwestern Consortium
The Urban/Suburban Northwestern Consortium was formed in 1996 when several schools joined with the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University to create a cross-institutional community of educators committed to facilitating collaborative relationships across urban and suburban boundaries
