Many researchers at Northwestern University's Family Institute are affiliated with SESP, studying human development and the effects of interventions on human lives.
SESP partners with this organization and the Inner-City Teaching Corps (ICTC) to provide Alternative Certification for individuals seeking to change careers and become teachers in Chicago public schools. See LAUNCH.

Many HDSP faculty are affiliated with IPR, conducting social science research on public policy issues and disseminating findings to students, scholars, policymakers and the public.
A collaboration between Northwestern University and the University of Chicago, the center is a national and interdisciplinary academic research center directed by SESP professor Greg Duncan that seeks to advance our understanding of what it means to be poor in America. Funding is provided by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Our learning and organizational change program coordinates closely with Kellogg's department of organization behavior, and the two schools collaborate on such projects as LAUNCH (Leadership Academy and Urban Network for Chicago).
Formed in 1996 as a collaboration between SESP and public and private, urban and suburban elementary, middle and secondary schools. The consortium was formed to create a cross-institutional community of educators committed to facilitating collaborative relationships across urban and suburban boundaries.
