Through field experiences, MSEd elementary teaching students develop their skills and understandings in an actual classroom setting.
The MSEd program offers meaningful field experiences designed to develop each teacher candidate's skills and understandings. Both involve students in a school setting with a skilled mentor in their area of concentration, building their ability to apply the theory of research and literature to the practice of teaching and learning.

Beginning with a period of observation, students gradually increase their involvement in classroom teaching in preparation for an extended student teaching experience. With numerous opportunities for reflection and growth, students not only fulfill requirements for certification but also gain significant experience and develop new understanding of many facets of the teacher’s role and relationships.
