Assistant Professor of Psychology, York University, Toronto. Dr. McGregor served as the Foley Center Postdoctoral Fellow in 1998-99. His research interests span personality and social psychology. At the Foley Center, he conducted research on the relations among personality traits, personal projects, and life stories, and their associations with psychological well-being.

Happiness and meaning, conviction, pride, zeal, extremism, and inter-group relations, self-threat and worldview defense, personality processes related to implicit/explicit self-esteem and adult attachment security, approach and avoidance motivation, regulatory focus, and cerebral hemisphericity, mechanisms of thought/feeling suppression and repression, experimental research on causes of alcohol abuse, uncertainty, ambivalence, cognitive dissonance, psychology of religion and meditation, cross-cultural psychology
