Multidisciplinary Program in Education Science
Guidelines for MPES Applications and Review Procedures
Each applicant should submit the following via e-mail by May 16, 2008, to Hannah Wallerstein (hwallerstein@gmail.com), the MPES Program Administrative Assistant.
Applicants must be first-year students in good standing in their graduate program. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or resident aliens. Students of color are strongly encouraged to apply.
1. APPLICATION PROCESS — Each applicant should submit the following:
One- to two-page statement (12-point font, double-spaced) that outlines the applicant’s research interest(s) in education
Resume, including GRE scores and any awards received
One letter of reference from a faculty member in the applicant’s PhD program that speaks to the applicant's academic promise and the centrality of education to the applicant’s research interests
2. REVIEW PROCESS
Applications are reviewed by the MPES Steering Committee, which includes the following professors:

3. REVIEW CRITERIA
Centrality of education to the applicant's program of research.
Applicant scholarly promise. The program seeks to recruit and fund the most academically able students in the participating PhD program
