Biography
Elizabeth Tipton graduated from Northwestern University with a Ph.D. in statistics in 2011. She is now an Assistant Professor of Applied Statistics at Teachers College, Columbia University.Her research interests include both meta-analysis and methods for improving the external validity of social experiments. She has a BA in mathematics from Transylvania University and an MA in sociology from the University of Chicago. Before entering Northwestern, Elizabeth worked for three years with the Navajo and Zuni communities near Gallup, New Mexico, organizing parents and administering an adult basic education program. She is originally from Berea, Kentucky.
