Certificate of Advanced Study in Education

Certificate of Advanced Study in Education

The teaching profession is rapidly changing, and we need innovative and dynamic educators with cutting-edge skills to guide students in the 21st century. The Certificate of Advanced Study provides teachers with those skills through a sequence of courses focused on advanced teaching topics such as instructional coaching, teaching high-ability learners, and computational thinking.

The one- and two-week summer courses are offered on the beautiful Evanston campus from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to fit into a teacher’s busy schedule. Teachers receive graduate credit for each course and a certificate of completion for four courses in a topic strand. All courses can be applied towards a Master’s Degree in Teacher Leadership.

This is a Northwestern University certificate program; it does not lead to licensure or endorsements from the Illinois State Board of Education.
