Coaching Classroom Management: Strategies and Tools for School Leaders, Coaching Champions, and Instructional Coaches

Participants will develop their skills to help teachers manage their classrooms effectively through powerful coaching. This session will provide ideas and strategies for both evaluative and non-evaluative school leaders. Whether you are an administrator, an instructional coach, or school leader, you will learn to help guide and support staff for effective classroom management implementation. These strategies will include how to communicate clear expectations, structure effective observations, and mobilize for change.

Participants will be given concrete strategies and tools to:

  • Acknowledge the difficulties of maintaining effective classroom management.
  • Define the role of both evaluative and non-evaluative coaches in creating an environment of coaching.
  • Create clear targets that build consistency of practice between classrooms, while allowing autonomy for teachers.
  • Build a system of formative accountability for staff.
  • Apply the STOIC framework to assist in the improvement of classroom management.
