Why did you choose the MSLOC program?

I was looking for a practical program that combined theory and concepts with immediate application in a work setting. As you move up in an organization, how effectively you lead people and manage change is what sets you apart from others. The MSLOC program addresses this leadership capability. I also like the flexible curriculum that allows me to take classes from other Northwestern University graduate programs. And the alternative schedule option is also great.

What are you learning that you find most valuable?
I find the in-class dialogues with other students and with faculty most valuable. They all contribute unique experiences, perspectives and insights. And the network you develop as a result of being in the program is an added benefit.

What stands out about your student experience?
I find the MSLOC experience to be very enriching. The readings, the faculty and the class profile are all very unique. This program really helps you grow both personally and professionally.

How will the degree contribute to your career goals?
On various levels. In my current role I apply the tools and concepts learned in class frequently. The program has challenged my mental models, and as result I now see things and analyze issues more holistically. In the long term, understanding the human capital side of business along with the required leadership qualities of managing change will position me for greater responsibilities.
