Is technology education a good investment for schools with limited resources? What is the best way to integrate technology in schools? Chicago Matters on WBEZ explored these issues in a segment called "Schools and Technology: The Cost of Doing It Right," which aired on September 26. SESP professor Louis Gomez comments on the value of allocating funds for technology in schools. Emphasizing the importance of genuine research on various aspects of cognition and the ability to work, he says, "It is the mark of good leadership to question the value of all resources and to pick those which provide at least the best predicted return on investment. Is technology a good bet? Technology is a pretty good bet for some things."
