Enjoy Monday's Noontime Concert in Annenberg Hall

Brighten up your lunchtime on March 9 with a special concert in Annenberg Hall featuring Bienen School of Music students. Slated for Monday's program are masterworks for soloists and chamber ensembles with compositions by Bruch, Chopin, Brahms and others.

Musical performances by Northwestern students are being featured through the Noontime Concert Series, co-sponsored by Bienen School of Music and the School of Education and Social Policy. Student performers on Monday include David Halperin, clarinet; Catherine Price, viola; Amanda Albert, piano; Jasmine Nagano, piano; Rachel Serber, trumpet; Pe Lun Tsai, clarinet; and Hsiao-Ling Lin, piano.

The concert begins promptly at noon in G02 Annenberg Hall, and attendees may feel free to bring their lunch for this informal event.

"The Annenberg Noontime Concert Series is designed to provide, faculty, staff and students who reside on 'north campus' with the opportunity to experience excellent music performances in a nearby venue, with great acoustics, an excellent piano and an environment for an intimate and up-close listening experience," says Bernard Dobroski, a professor in the School of Music. "The programs for the series are drawn from a potpourri of classical solo and chamber music repertoires played by talented undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the Bienen School of Music."

Upcoming concerts are scheduled for April 22 and May 13, also in Annenberg Hall. Generally the series features two concerts per quarter.

SESP professor Sophie Haroutunian-Gordon, one of the organizers of the concert series, says, "We joyfully welcome back the Noontime Concert Series. A tradition that was established in 1996, the series has resumed after a three-year hiatus. … Come and enjoy great music and great performances in Annenberg Hall."
