About 1,500 students participated this year, two to three times as many students as in years past. The Honor Roll named 100 faculty members from 60 departments. The size of each department was taken into account when determining the number of faculty named. Following are the SESP faculty and staff members on the 2010 Honor Roll:
Doris Blesoff
Dorie Blesoff is an adjunct instructor for the Learning and Organizational Change concentration. She teaches Learning Organizations for Complex Environments as well as graduate-level courses. Blesoff brings to students her experience from running an independent consulting practice that specializes in leadership development and designing and facilitating sustainable strategic change.
Gail Berger
An instructor in the Learning and Organizational Change concentration, Gail Berger teaches Introduction to Organizational Theory to undergraduates, as well as courses for graduate students. She brings academic and professional experience in the areas of organizational behavior, conflict resolution and organizational leadership. After receiving her doctorate in management and organizations from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, she consulted to small firms and Fortune 500 companies.
Solomon Cytrynbaum
Solomon Cytrynbaum is a professor of education in the School of Education and Social Policy. A faculty member in the Human Development and Psychological Services concentration, he teaches Advanced Research Methods, Topics in Human Development, and Psychological Services and Group Dynamics. His current primary research interest is the evaluation of school reform efforts, and he is also a professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences in the psychology graduate program.
Jody Kretzmann
The courses that research associate professor Jody Kretzmann teaches in the School of Education and Social Policy are Community Development and Introduction to Faith and Service. He is co-founder and co-director of the Asset- Based Community Development (ABCD) Institute, which works with community leaders to conduct research, produce materials and support community efforts to rediscover local capacities and mobilize citizens' resources to solve problems.
Dan Lewis
A professor of human development and social policy, Dan Lewis teaches undergraduate courses in social policy, including Social Policy and Human Services and Civic Engagement. He is the director of the Civic Engagement Certification Program, as well as a professor in the Human Development and Social Policy doctoral program. His research has focused on welfare reform, prison reform and urban issues, and his newest book is Gaining Ground in Illinois: Welfare Reform and Person-Centered Policy Analysis.
Susan Olson
Susan Olson is the assistant dean for student affairs in the School of Education and Social Policy. She is also an advisor for students majoring in human development and psychological services, and she serves as the administrative coordinator of the Senior Honors Program.
Mark Hoffman
Mark Hoffman was selected to the Honor Roll for staff members. He is an advisor to students in the social policy concentration at the School of Education and Social Policy, as well as the Graduate School liaison and the SESP alumni liaison.
