Researchers led by professor Thomas Cook received a $3.9 million grant from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation to establish a research network for a major longitudinal study of how housing affects children.

5/19/10 - SESP Honors 2009 Golden Apple Fellows at Reception
Ten Golden Apple Fellows had a sabbatical at Northwestern this spring, as a special feature of winning the Golden Apple Award for Teaching Excellence in 2009. The School of Education and Social Policy honored the fellows at a reception in Annenberg Hall on May 6.

Melissa Luna, a doctoral student in the Learning Sciences program, and Cassandra Hart, a doctoral student in the Human Development and Social Policy program, both won Spencer Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships.

Michelle Wilkerson-Jerde, a PhD student in Learning Sciences, won the award for Best Student Paper from the American Education Research Association's Special Interest Group in Learning Sciences and Advanced Technologies in Learning.
