Junior Aria Fiat Plans Supplies for Dreams Benefit April 26

Supplies for Dreams Gala

Supplies for Dreams, a nonprofit co-founded by SESP student Aria Fiat, is holding a gala on April 26 to raise funds for the coming year. The organization provides Chicago students in need with school supplies and field trips.

The Second Annual Inspiration Gala will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Kenilworth Club in Kenilworth. The event will feature live music, hors d'oeuvres, open bar, silent auction, and guest speaker Principal Stacy Stewart from the Belmont-Cragin Elementary School.

The SESP community is invited to attend the event in support of Supplies for Dreams. Tickets are $60 per guest, $50 per guest for parties of four or more, and $40 for students. Anyone who would like to attend may purchase tickets online.

Fiat, a junior in human development and psychological services, says, “Thanks to the support of the North Shore and Northwestern community, Supplies for Dreams has had our most successful year yet, raising over $83,000 to support 3,250 students. My team and I are looking forward to celebrating these achievements at our Second Annual Inspiration Gala, and we hope that any and all supporters of education will join us there!”

She adds, “This past year has been a remarkable period of change and growth for the organization. As a part of a continuous process of refining our organizational structure and goals, we have made a number of improvements.” The organization’s initiatives have included rebranding, launching several new websites or web platforms and inaugurating several new programs and curricula.

Within the next month, Supplies for Dreams will be launching two more programs, including a new mentoring program that uses video conferencing to connect Chicago Public Schools students to young adult mentors.

The gala is intended to raise more than $15,000 for Supplies for Dreams programs.
