Teachers: Register Now for Annual Baxter Symposium

Baxter symposiumRegistration for Northwestern University’s 6th Annual Baxter Symposium and summer workshops begins Friday, March 31.

The Baxter Symposium, designed to inspire teachers to bring cutting-edge life science activities to their classrooms, is hosted by the newly-named Baxter Center for Science Education.

Formerly known as the Biotechnology Center for Excellence, the Baxter Center for Science Education also has launched a new website in conjunction with its name change.

“The new name reflects our expanded mission to empower teachers to bring authentic and engaging science experiences to all students in diverse learning environments,” said Amy Pratt, associate director of the Office of Stem Education Partnerships.

The Baxter Center for Science Education connects students and teachers to real-world scientific ideas and experiences by providing professional development for teachers. The programs help educators implement authentic and innovative life science programs in their schools with a focus on hands-on, inquiry-based activities aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).

This initiative is a collaborative partnership with Lindblom Math & Science Academy (LMSA), the Office of STEM Education Partnerships (OSEP) at Northwestern University, and Baxter International Inc.
