Biography
Ellen Esrick is an advisor and teacher for the graduate students in the elementary education program in the School of Education and Social Policy. She began working at Northwestern in the fall of 2000 after teaching for 34 years in District 65 in Evanston. She was a Reading Specialist and third and fourth grade teacher. Her specialty was children's literature. Concurrently she is a facilitator for the Reading for Deeper Meaning Program at the Rochelle Lee Fund working with Chicago teachers.

MS_ED 487 Student Teaching - Elementary This seminar is designed to enrich the student teaching experience for Elementary candidates through whole class and small group discussions. Readings, assignments and guest speakers will enrich this course and provide participants with opportunities for reflection, sharing, and problem solving of issues encountered in the classroom. MS_ED 477 Practicum Seminar This seminar is designed to enrich the Practicum/Observation experience for Elementary candidates. Through whole class and small group discussion, you will have opportunities to share your observations, questions, and reflections. Each week various topics of teaching and learning will be addressed which will help prepare you for student teaching
