Research Interests

My research interests includes understanding the relationship, experiences, and resources students, teachers, and communities contribute to the learning experiences. Specifically, I want to continue to focus on the role self-esteem/identity play in learning for Low SES students from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds. I want to look at how students from diverse backgrounds develop identities as learners and how these identities are supported within different contexts through the lens of Identity theory, CHAT, and Multi-sitedness sensibility. I am interested in both in and out-of school contexts, and want to explore potential research sites within history classrooms and/or library settings.
