Dr. Kathleen Therese Hayes

BiographyKathleen's career in K-12 education has taken her from the high school English classroom to the Chicago Public Schools central office, the Consortium on Chicago School Research and several nonprofit organizations focused on teacher policy issues. She earned her Ed.D. in education policy from Teachers College in May 2016. Her dissertation focused on teacher sensemaking about a Chicago high school curricular and instructional reform. Kathleen's professional interests center on teacher preparation, the role of teachers in policy implementation, and helping to strengthen the connection between research and educator practice.
