Research InterestsHow can we design organizations that foster the learning needed to solve tough societal and community challenges? These challenges, which range from global warming to educational equity, can only be addressed with competent collaboration and organizing. In part, this is because they are wicked problems (Rittel & Webber, 1973) for which there is no single correct answer but many stakeholders with diverse interests and perspectives. Building capacity to address these challenges is a daunting task, but a critical one.
