Graduate Assistant, Higher Education Administration and Policy
Tong graduated from Lanzhou University, China with a BS in Chemistry and obtained a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of New Hampshire. During her doctoral studies, Tong conducted research in the areas of energy and sustainability and published ten peer-reviewed articles. She served as a teaching assistant for four years, delivering lab lectures to undergraduate students, supervising them on hands-on experiments, and helping them solve problems related to homework and lab reports. Tong enjoyed teaching and discovered her passion for engaging with students in higher education.
In summer 2017, Tong started as a full-time student in the Master of Science in Higher Education Administration and Policy Program. She currently works as a graduate assistant in the MSHE office. She also interns in the Northwestern University’s International Office as a graduate assistant and acts as a student leader in the International Student Advisory Board program.
