Data Analyst Associate (Data Manager) – CTD

The Data Analyst Associate performs tasks related to the design, implementation, support/maintenance, and enhancement of NU's enterprise, vendor and in-house developed applications. Documents functional requirements, analyzes requirements in the context of software and processes, develops and executes test plans, assists with and documents business process improvement efforts, and works with production issues. Completes content, process, and procedures for technical and functional system work that is low in complexity. Receives direction and oversight from senior staff.



  • Serve as administrator of CTD’s Student Information System (SIS), including:

○Managing importing, exporting, and maintaining accurate student and teacher SIS records

○Managing accounts of SIS users to ensure timely access and student privacy and security

○Assisting staff with creating and documenting custom fields and layouts in the SIS

○Providing training and technical assistance to SIS users 

  • Serve as administrator of CTD’s learning management system (LMS), including:

○Managing provisioning of accounts to students, staff, and school liaisons

○Managing synchronization of records between CTD’s online course registration system, LMS, and SIS

○Providing training and technical assistance to CTD staff related to use of the LMS

○Assist with development and maintenance of CTD policies and procedures related to LMS use by stakeholders

○Serve as a primary point of contact between CTD and its LMS vendor.

  • Provide support to internal users of CTD’s student database

○Assist staff in creating reports and templates for use by program administrators and teachers

○Collaborate with research faculty to collect and analyze research and evaluation project data and develop reports

○Assist staff in performing complex data queries

○Assist in developing policies, procedures and training resources to assure data quality and student privacy

  • In collaboration with the IT Director, develop processes for efficiently sharing data across the SIS, LMS, Web-based course registration system, and student health record management system


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in a major such as computer science, information technology, or related; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in a related field
  • Experience configuring or administering a Student Information System software package such as Salesforce, PowerSchool, eSIS, Infinite Campus, Genius SIS, or similar product
  • Experience configuring or administering an Learning Management System (LMS) such as Schoology, Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard Learn or similar product
  • Experience creating training or documentation materials and providing technical assistance to personnel in an K-12 or higher education setting
  • Ability to create and quality check SQL database queries
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience using or willingness to learn a data visualization software package such as Tableau.
  • Experience using or willingness to learn a statistical analysis software package such as SAS, STATA, or SPSS
  • Strong written communication skills
