iOS Instructor- Contract

Join Northwestern University’s Office of Community Education Partnership (OCEP) team. We are looking for passionate practitioners and instructors to teach in-school and out-of-school educators in iOS Swift programming for Chicago, IL. This is a part-time contract remote position that has the opportunity for renewal. 10 – 20 hours/week for 4 – 6 weeks, depending on your schedule to begin immediately. 

This position will support the expansion of trained in-school and out-of-school instructors in Swift and App Design.

What you will do

  • Prepare instructional program objectives, outlines, and lesson plans based on Develop in Swift Fundamental, Data Collections or Explorations curriculum as defined by the Northwestern team
  • Responsible for all live, and asynchronous, instruction
  • Monitor adult students' performance to make suggestions for improvement and to ensure that they satisfy course standards, training requirements, and objectives
  • Instructing adult students (current out-of-school instructors and in-school educators or teachers) on different iOS techniques, strategies, and practices

Experience

  • Proven mobile development experience in iOS, including, iOS SDK, Apple Developer Portal, etc.
  • Understanding of Apple’s design principles and interface guidelines
  • Experience with iOS frameworks and kits such as Core Data, Core Animation, AIKit, etc.
  • 2 - 3 years of teaching experience desired
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient on a Mac
