Job Summary:

Seeking a research coordinator to join our longitudinal study of California school district efforts to improve mathematics instruction preK-grade 3. The position involves a mix of administrative and research tasks with a team lead by Cynthia Coburn PhD (principal investigator) and ipost-docs, graduate students, and undergraduate researchers. While the position is based in Evanston at Northwestern University, the project collaborates with researchers from UCLA and Vanderbilt University. The mixed methods study involves collecting and analyzing interview, observation, and survey data at the district, school, and classroom level. Northwestern university is mainly responsible for analyzing the qualitative and survey data.

This role coordinates collection, analysis, processing & reporting of data. This includes coordinating meetings, managing travel and reimbursement, and coordinating undergraduate assistants who participate in data cleaning and processing. Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI), participates in data analysis activities. Depending upon skills, may participate in data collection as well. Under supervision of the PI, manages the IRB process. & assists Principal Investigator (PI) in judging the validity of test data obtained in regard to biomedical &/or social-behavioral research study(ies) of limited complexity involving co-investigators, multiple campuses &/or  universities.  Completes all activities by strictly following Good Clinical Practices (GCP) & all relevant current local, state, & federal laws, regulations, guidance, policy & procedure developed by the NU Institutional Review Board (IRB)., Food & Drug Administration (FDA) Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), & the International Conference on Harmonization (ICH).

Specific Responsibilities:

Technical

  • Participates in the planning & conduct of research study including participant recruitment and retention.
  • Obtains informed consent
  • Administers following protocols.
  • Collects, compiles

Administration

  • Collects, records, reviews & summarizes research data.
  • Prepares reports for investigators and sponsor
  • Completes documents associated with current local, state, & federal regulatory guidelines, requirements, laws & research protocols.

Finance

  • May process payments for research participants per study protocol. 
  • Coordinates reimbursements for travel, consultant pay, additional gift card orders, etc.

Supervision

  • May provide work direction &/or train

Miscellaneous

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
