Heather served as the Executive Assistant Vice President for Business and Finance and Chief Business Officer at the University of Illinois at Chicago for 10 years until her retirement 18 months ago. She started her career at the Illinois Board of Higher Education where she was an Assistant Director for Fiscal Affairs, analyzing and recommending University and ISAC operating and capital budgets and participating in master planning activities. She has worked at both public comprehensive universities and major research universities, serving as Budget Director and Assistant Vice President for Budget and Finance at Northeastern Illinois University for 13 years and Vice President for Finance and Administration at Clarion University of PA for 6 years. Prior to coming to UIC, she was the Senior Associate Dean/Chief Financial Officer at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine where she helped implement a responsibility centered management budget.
She has a PhD in Higher Education Administration from the University of Michigan and has taught Budget and Finance in Higher Education at both Penn State and Loyola Universities.
