Sarah is a doctoral student in Human Development and Social Policy. She earned her bachelor's degree in Sociology/Anthropology from Carleton College. She came to Northwestern after teaching high school math in South Dakota, for two years through the Teach for America program. Her two years of teaching in an underserved remote district have motivated her to understand how to close the educational achievement gap in rural communities. David Figlio is her advisor.
