Dr. Cathy Flynn is a Senior Program Analyst with the Office of the Secretary of Defense in Military Community &
Family Policy. For the past nine years, Dr. Flynn has worked to bridge research needs and policy development
within the Department of Defense (DoD). Her current portfolio includes large-scale surveys of military spouses and
evaluation development for community and family programs. Prior to coming to the DoD, she was a Senior
Research Associate at the Center for Families at Purdue University and research faculty in the Department of
Psychology at Loyola University in Chicago. Dr. Flynn received her doctoral degree in Human Development &
Social Policy from Northwestern University, where she met and married fellow alumni Dr. Kevin Roy.
