Study Abroad

School of Education and Social Policy (SESP) students have expanded their understanding of the world through participation in study abroad programs around the world.

SESP sudents may earn up to one year of academic credit while abroad. It is imperative, however, that students considering study abroad work with their academic advisor and consult the study abroad portion of SESP Student Handbook and the Northwestern Study Abroad Office.

Each January, the SESP Student Affairs Office hosts a dinner at which our students who have studied abroad share their experience with students considering such a program.

If interested in studying abroad, we highly recommend that you attend one of the weekly workshops.

Study Abroad 101 workshops are held every week*

Tuesdays 5–6 p.m. (held all quarters)
Thursdays 4–5 p.m. (held fall quarter and January only)
Fridays 2–3 p.m. (held all quarters)
Workshops run from THE FIRST TUESDAY IN OCTOBER until the last Friday in May, except for Thanksgiving week, University breaks/holidays, finals weeks and application deadline weeks. Workshops are held at the Study Abroad Office, 630 Dartmouth Place, 2nd Floor.
