Applying Restorative Practices and Peacekeeping Practices in Schools

This workshop will provide a framework and foundation for integrating restorative justice principles and circle-keeping practices into classrooms and schools. The workshop will be experiential, being conducted primarily in Circle. The workshop will integrate Social Emotional Learning (SEL) competencies with an in-depth exploration of the philosophy and principles for restorative practices, the structure and applications of circle process and the potential of circles to establish safe, inclusive and equitable classrooms, schools and community. Participants will engage in self-reflection and self-care through the workshop activities and circles, as well as build an action plan to bring these restorative practices back to their own schools and communities.
