STEAMbassadors

Community STEAM Mentorship Program

A collage of people posing for the cameraThe STEAMbassador program helps college students discover and strengthen their STEAM interests and share those interests with youth through mentorship and creative activity. STEAMbassadors are specially-trained mentors from partnering two-and four-year institutions that engage elementary and middle-school aged youth in STEAM activities such as coding music, flying drones, building machines, and writing stories in online and face-to-face informal learning spaces. The STEAMville platform is a powerful vehicle that allows youth to discover, develop, and showcase their STEAM interests and identities and connect to other STEAM learning opportunities. STEAMbassadors is a collaboration of university, city college, city agency, and community-based organization partners.

Summer of STEAM Camps

For Kindergarten - 4th Graders

Project Exploration and Partners, powered by STEAMbassadors, exposes camp participants to various STEAM-related programs. Youth can conduct experiments, explore the world around them, build, code, show off their artistic skills, play math games, and create an adventure during summer camp.

Camp HoMaGo

For 5th - 8th Graders

Let’s HoMaGo (Hang Out, Mess Around, and Geek Out)

This summer, 5th and 8th graders can tune-in and join STEAMbassadors on a mission to explore, develop, and share their STEAM superpowers by flying drones and creating games, swag, beats, digital stories, and art all while hanging out with peers face-to-face in your Chicago Park District or virtually from your home.
