Our Students

Sami Packard

Sami Packard

Senior Change Consultant,
Kaiser Permanente

Sami puts design thinking into action, driving purposeful change and innovation for Kaiser Permanente. Sami was drawn to MSLOC by her desire to apply design thinking more broadly. Through the program, she deepened her understanding of how to use design principles to influence human behavior in business. Sami facilitates a design thinking workshop nearly every week and runs a training session for 100 employees every February. Sami says, “Northwestern prepared me for my current role of helping companies unlock the full potential of this generational workforce.”

Tamika Pumphrey

Tamika Pumphrey

Sr. Director,
The Regis Company

After starting her career in marketing and product development, Tamika found that “people are the most complicated and interesting pieces of [her] work, so [she] shifted her consulting focus to change management initiatives.” Through her work in MSLOC, Tamika learned how to act as a coach to guide organizational leaders by meeting them where they are and taking them to the next level. She helps client reframe what they’re seeing as disruption – a corporate acquisition or new regulations have made their business model invalid – as an opportunity. That’s language and technique Tamika says she didn’t have before Northwestern’s program.

Support Our Students

Transforming the world's workplaces takes all of us. To realize our mission to equip leaders with the vision, knowledge, and skills to facilitate sustainable, positive organizational transformation, we are working harder than ever to attract and support the full complement of talented leaders we need as partners in this work. This is why in 2021, we launched our TLC Scholarship Fund to actively support students who need financial assistance to attend MSLOC's onsite intensive class sessions in Evanston.

The TLC Scholarship Fund recognizes former MSLOC team member Terri L. Cramer, who over many years generously opened her home to students who needed a place to stay.

To make a gift to support the TLC Scholarship Fund:

  • Visit giving.northwestern.edu
  • Click the “Make a Gift” button in the top right corner

  • Click the “Search School & Program Funds” button, and enter “TLC” in the search text box
  • Select “MSLOC IT & TLC Scholarship Fund”
  • Click “Enter”
  • Proceed to complete the form to submit your gift
  • All gifts to the TLC Scholarship Fund go directly to offsetting non-tuition support for MSLOC students.

Hear From One Of Our Students

"Terri was the first person I came in contact with during the information session and although I don't remember what she shared, I remember how she made me feel. I felt like I belonged. She has such a generous heart with a genuine love for others, and I won't ever forget what she did for me"
